Patients' rights to General Medical Services

Patients have the rights to:

  • be registered with a General Practitioner
  • change doctor if desired
  • be offered a health check on joining the practice
  • receive emergency care at any time from the practice
  • receive appropriate drugs and medicines
  • be referred for specialist or second opinion if they and the GP
    agrees

Your responsibility as a Patient

We will do our best to provide a high standard of care at all times.  In return, we hope you will use the service in a responsible and careful way.

Please let us know of changes in your circumstances:

  • Change of telephone number
  • Change of address details
  • Change of marital status

Please let us know in good time if you are unable to attend for an appointment so that we can offer it to someone else.

If you are unhappy about the service you have received you are free to make a complaint.  We have a separate leaflet giving details of the Complaints Procedure, please ask at Reception.
