Patient Participation Group
Welcome to the New Queen Street and Stanground Surgeries’ Patient Participation Group (PPG)
The group’s role is:
- to act as a liaison between patients, doctors, staff and other health-related organisations
- to encourage self help
- to promote patients' needs and interests
- to support the Practice
New Queen Street and Stanground PPG is an independent group of volunteers who are all registered patients. They meet regularly, set their own agenda and activities and regularly liaise with staff at the practice, who attend their meetings. The group liaises regularly with practice managers to raise and understand any issues on behalf of patients. The Chairs of all Lakeside PPGs are also invited to attend a regular meeting with the Partnership’s Chief Executive to share issues and hear updates.

- No need for Irene to sign at bank

- Boots have an Ipad in store
- Progressing slowly to have cameras fitted
- New signage at Stanground already in Minutes from last month’s meeting
- 700 ping pong balls, bright green and yellow, marked from 0-5
6. Practice report - Charlotte
- Flooring in waiting area is now being done, this is being done in stages due to the Surgery having to be closed so this is being done on weekends.
- Meeting with Boots next week to discuss Parking Cameras
- New signage at Stanground - Hopefully patient will be able to see the Surgery better
- Covid Spring Boosters- These are going well and clinics filling up
- Email from a new member- Barry received this but will forward onto Irene
Parking cameras
- Had a meeting with Boots, very positive they agree with the parking cameras and feel it will be beneficial for our patients- currently waiting for the lease to ensure we can get the go ahead for the cameras to be installed
Covid spring boosters
- These went well and clinics were full
Flu clinics
- We are currently planning flu clinics, we will be doing weekend clinics and week day clinics as well, we will confirm dates soon and we will be sending patients invites in the next few coming weeks
Patient survey
- We have carefully reviewed the patient survey results as a practice and are committed to listening to our patients' feedback to make positive improvements to the services we provide. Alongside areas for development, we also received a significant amount of positive feedback. It has been wonderful to see that many patients have recognised the improvements we have made, particularly the introduction of Anima. Many patients told us that Anima has had a positive impact on their experience of accessing our services, and it is encouraging to know that these changes are making a real difference. We will continue to use patient feedback to guide future improvements and ensure we provide the best possible care and service for our patients
7. Fundraising - Ann
- 14 prizes and a notice board at Stanground
Issues
- Ann showed patients how to use Anima at Stanground surgery, good feedback
- No check in notice near the check in screen
- Ann showed patients how to use Anima at New Queen Street surgery, feedback was mostly yes
- QR code to donate cash
- Issues with Anima not working - June 16th shut down at 1.30pm and on June 18th as practice closed from 2pm for staff training
- Lack of wheelchairs in surgery
- Medical topic/speech to patients/people from 7-9pm after surgery has closed
- The Chair thanked everyone for attending, meeting closed at 12.05pm

- The date was changed from 11th September to Friday 2nd October at 11am
