Patient Participation Group

Welcome to the New Queen Street and Stanground Surgeries’ Patient Participation Group (PPG)

The group’s role is:

  • to act as a liaison between patients, doctors, staff and other health-related organisations
  • to encourage self help
  • to promote patients' needs and interests
  • to support the Practice

New Queen Street and Stanground PPG is an independent group of volunteers who are all registered patients. They meet regularly, set their own agenda and activities and regularly liaise with staff at the practice, who attend their meetings. The group liaises regularly with practice managers to raise and understand any issues on behalf of patients. The Chairs of all Lakeside PPGs are also invited to attend a regular meeting with the Partnership’s Chief Executive to share issues and hear updates.

The PPG is currently recruiting for new members. If you would like to be a member please get in touch using our secure online form

Questions from PPG with answers

Could we have child and parent parking?
  • Unfortunately, this is not something we are able to accommodate at present. We already have limited parking spaces available, and introducing parent and child bays would reduce the overall number of spaces further, as the larger bays would effectively require the use of two standard spaces for one parent and child space. We have not previously received any complaints regarding the absence of parent and child spaces, and this has also not been identified as a requirement within our recent Health & Safety risk assessment. In addition, any changes would need to be implemented across both sites, including STG, where parking capacity is already extremely limited and there is insufficient space to accommodate this change
Turning right coming out of Surgery, sign is not big enough, could we have a bigger sign?
  • I have been out to inspect this myself and I cannot see any signage relating to this issue. The only marking visible is a large arrow painted on the road. This section of the road is owned and managed by the council rather than ourselves, therefore this is not something we are able to alter or make changes to. I have attached a picture of the large arrow and it is fairly large already I am not sure it could be made bigger
