Safe Surgery
Surgeries
We are proud to be a ‘Safe Surgery’ for everyone in our community.
We are proud that The New Queen Street and Stanground Surgeries are now part of the Safe Surgeries network, run by Doctors of the World.
To achieve this, we reviewed how patients access our services and used Safe Surgeries guidance to help identify and reduce barriers to care.
This includes making sure patients are not disadvantaged because they do not have ID or proof of address, are unsure about their immigration status, or need language support. We have also supported staff with guidance on inclusive access and the use of interpreting services where needed.
Charlotte Leonard, Patient Services Manager, said: “Becoming a Safe Surgery has helped us look closely at how people access our services and make sure our processes are as inclusive as possible. We want everyone who comes to us to feel welcome, respected and confident asking for help.”
Everyone living in the UK is entitled to register and consult with a GP. It means we can prevent and treat illness early and create a healthier society for everyone.
- Our practice commits to taking steps to ensure that everyone in our community may fulfil their entitlement to quality healthcare. In partnership with Doctors of the World UK, we ensure that our practice offers a welcoming space for everyone who seeks to use our services.
